Spatial pattern of soil erosion using RUSLE model and GIS software at the Saf Saf watershed, Algeria

چکیده
Soil erosion is one of the problems threatening Algerian environment. In agriculture, soil leads to thinning topsoil under effect natural erosive forces water, or agricultural activities. The present study aims estimate average loss rate and identify vulnerable zones. Through integration RUSLE model at Saf watershed, various parameters are utilized such as rainfall erosivity factor (R), erodibility (K), slope length - (LS), crop management (C) practice (P). All these prepared processed through a geographic information system (GIS) remote sensing using database sources. results reveal that river basin has an annual 3.9 t ha−1 yr−1, 4.53 million tonnes for period 1975-2017. Meanwhile, eighty five percent area experiencing acceptable loss, which ranging between 0 5 yr−1. risk assessment can contribute understand spatial pattern in order use appropriate conservation practices sustainable management.

Modeling Soil Erosion Using Rusle and Gis Tools
Soil erosion involves detachment and transport of soil particles from top soil layers, degrading soil quality and reducing the productivity of affected lands. Soil eroded from the upland catchment causes depletion of fertile agricultural land and the resulting sediment deposited at the river networks creates river morphological change and reservoir sedimentation problems. However, land managers...

Prioritization of different regions at watersheds based on the erosion rate and sediment yield with approach of its economic effects can lead to the production of valuable information for projects of soil conservatism. The present study aim was sub-watersheds prioritization of Kan watershed based on erosion condition with the approach of economic losses from erosion and sediment. Therefore, the...

Soil erosion is one of the important and worldwide environmental and economic issues. High amount of sediments accumulations behind the different structures such as dams requires several attempts to minimize their potential risks. Therefore, some quantified data will be needed in order to recognize those critical areas which requires urgent conservation. Since conventional procedures are time c...

Accurate assessment of soil loss is essential for sustainable agricultural production, 11 management and conservation planning, especially in productive rain-fed agro-ecosystems 12 and protected areas. The European Union considers soil as a non-renewable resource and 13 identifies that soil degradation has strong impacts on soil and water resources. In this work the 14 Revised Universal Soil Lo...
متن کاملAssessment of Soil Erosion Susceptibility in Kothagiri Taluk Using Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) and Geo-Spatial Technology
Soil erosion is a serious environmental problem in Kothagiri Taluk. Many studies have been carried out to map shifting cultivation and areas susceptible to soil erosion. Mostly, estimated soil loss is taken as the basis to classify the level of soil loss susceptibility of area. The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) function is a commonly used erosion model for this purpose in Kothagi...
